We just fixed on this.
We expect the rates over winter to be higher. Our usage is significantly higher in winter than summer. It costs a fortune to heat a 5 bed house in winter and we have a 3.6kw solar array that generates much more in summer than winter.0 -
At a 35% increase from now I wouldn't, I'd stay on the SVR as even with a projected 30% increase in October it'll still be cheaper, but I don't know your personal circumstances.

Just can't decide whether or not to sign up for BG Exclusive May 23v1?
26% more than now, but you can switch to better deals with BG IF any come along.
Martin says around 25% may be worth taking the dewal.0 -
Welcome to the forum.
That BG Exclusive May 23 v1 tariff is one that MSE believe could be worth taking; it's named specifically on the MSE site:bleazardd said:Just can't decide whether or not to sign up for BG Exclusive May 23v1?

Currently being offered fixed until 31/5/23 with BG (electricity only as on LPG for heating)
Exclusive May 23v1
34.312 p/kwh unit rate
48.509 standing charge
Current monthly charge £86, predicted if I take this fixed deal to be £99 - about a 16% increase.
I am tempted but downside is I will be paying the extra for the next 4 months until price cap increases.
Still would expect to be better off as long as future rises are accurate.
