It's not particularly complicated. I just knocked the heads off mine where the courses had lifted and repointed.
Drilled/screwed in replacement ties.
As with all things, it's the labour that costs. Some walls are probably going to be a lot more work than others.1 -

With the thin ones the first signs are usually the brickwork bulging out, especially on the gable end.1 -
We had cavity wall ties fail on the rear gable of our house, which gets all the weather. 1947 with fishtail ties.
We had the outer skin above the windows taken down and rebuilt. I think it was £2-3k.
