CurrysPCWorld Price-match Promise

I have previously bought numerous items from this company in the confidence of their Pricematch Promise and have successfully made a claim on one occasion.
Over the bank holiday I purchased an iPad as a gift and elected to collect from store.
Later the same day whilst shopping for something else I saw the same iPad £57 pounds cheaper at very.co.uk, a limited time, bank holiday offer (in addition, as it would have been my first purchase from the company I could have claimed a further 20% off).

As far as I was concerned they were offering an identical product on identical terms eg. Not offered as part of a bundle, no need to buy something else to secure the price, exactly the same product specifications and colour.
Very, however, charge a standard delivery of £3.99 whereas Curry’s delivery is free but Very offer a click and collect service which is free for items over £30 which is exactly what I chose to do with Currys.

I checked the T&Cs and it says ‘ We'll match the prices of in-stock products (EXCLUDING ink
products, DELIVERY CHARGES…)
offered on IDENTICAL terms and where we can check the price, stock position and where relevant your eligibility to
purchase from the competitor….’
It also states ‘Both us and the competitor must have the product in stock and ready for delivery.
Where a product is not available online and is in store only, you will need to send a photo showing the model \number, there is stock available, the date/time and the price.’
Believing (from their T&C’s that they exclude the cost of delivery (and in the case of a store purchase there would be no delivery cost) and that I did not pay a delivery charge nor would I have at very, I submitted a claim for the £57.
The claim was declined ( had the item not been wrapped and given as a gift I would have returned the item for a refund and repurchased from very).
I thought the Advertising standards say ‘the promise should be clear’.
I think by quoting ‘excluding…delivery costs…’ and then using the delivery cost as the reason for refusal is ambiguous.
Does anyone know if I can make a counterclaim, complaint or take the matter to a official body?

What was the reason for the decline?
You can't make a counterclaim as they haven't made any claim against you. If you feel the claim has been wrongly declined, submit a complaint.0 -
It was declined in the basis that very.co.uk charge a standard delivery of £3.99 but Currys do not, so it was not IDENTICAL terms. Despite stating that delivery charges were excluded from the offer?????!!!!!!
I understand what you are saying about the counter claim, you are correct, I meant make a claim of unfair advertising.0 -
Are you able to return the item to Currys for a refund and buy more cheaply through Very?1

To me, that reads that delivery charges are excluded from the price promise and so you’ll pay this if making a claim that includes a delivery charge.Although have they declined the full claim or are they just adding the delivery charge?0

I would have returned it if it hadn’t already been given as a gift.
I interpreted it the same way but they have declined the whole claim
