Passport validity

We are flying from Spain to Costa Rica on Iberia this summer.
Our DD has a 5 year passport which will have 10 month validity when we leave Spain - 5 months until the 5th anniversary of issue and another 5 months until it expires. I know she is fine for entering and leaving Spain as she will still have more than 3 months available. And I know she meets the Costa Rica requirement which is for 1 day validity.
But airlines have stricter rules sometimes. Is there any risk Iberia could require 6 months validity before the 5th anniversary of issue? I'll try to ask them on Twitter but not too hopeful of a response.

A passport is valid for 10 years (seems yours is 5yrs) from date of issue. Check the destination's rules by going to their .gov website0

What kind of rules do you suspect might come into play..? Certainly not the ten-year maximum passport validity rule...
