Possible Identity theft

Options
I have received letters from companies I've not taken out contracts with.  (Tesco mobile and o2 insurance) so I think someone is fraudulently using my name and address. I've logged it on action fraud but I've no idea what to do next? Grateful for any help or advice?

Call Tesco Mobile and O2 insurance and tell them that you suspect these are fraudulent transactions as a result of identity theft.

I would download a copy of each of your credit files and check them for hard searches. If you find others in addition to Tesco and O2, call up each lender/financial institution and tell them that you don't recognise the searches, and that you believe you are the victim of identity theft and that someone has made an application in your name.

Financial institutions will put a CIFAS marker on your credit file. You can also add protective registration. Learn more about that here: https://www.cifas.org.uk/pr

You may also like to consider the method below. IMHO more effective than CIFAS Protective Registration.

The Solution To Identity Fraud - The AntiSocial Engineer Limited

MyPAS - The AntiSocial Engineer Limited

You can also Password protect your Credit Files Free of Charge.

Consider you options and judge for yourself.

I have been looking at my full credit reports and there were several mobile phone accounts taken out fraudulently in my name. Vodafone have closed the accounts and responded to me within 2weeks. Tesco Mobile and O2 are saying minimum of 30 days to investigate and they won't allow CRA to remove the searches at this point.
I'm really struggling with the stress and emotional side thus is causing.  How long is this going to go on for? Will the fraudsters stop?

You need to let the companies do their investigations, otherwise anyone could open up an account, claim fraud and be quids in.

The fraudsters will stop when they realise your identity isn't worthwhile. As above, did you go for CIFAS protective registration?
