What type of paint for an electric fire please?

So because the sound of fan heaters in the modern fires drives me nuts when I'm sitting quietly when I moved into a property with no heating connected I bought this. The only bar fire I could find.
I'm planning to have my old smart one reconditioned but covid etc had delayed that
I'm hoping to make/have made a simple modern fire surround as I can't find one the right size.
Works well but don't like the look of it. I can take the gold bit off - the knobs I hoped to get off but the black is stark against the decor which is the main problem.
There used to be paint made for fires in the olden days when people touched things up instead of buyin new and wondered if there was such a thing now?

Any other ideas to titivating so it looks less like my grannys?

Hammerite smooth. Exhaust paint for anything hot.

Hadn't thought of exhaust paint. I guess it's only silver? But yes, the metal gets hot which is why it's sitting on tiles.

Red, blue, black, silver - Hunt around, you can probably find other colours. Your local car accessory shop should have a selection, or there is ebay/amazon.twopenny said: Hadn't thought of exhaust paint. I guess it's only silver?
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.1 -
Gold leaf for the knobs?Play with the expectation of winning not the fear of failure. S.Clarke1

I should add that exhaust/barbecue paint needs to be baked and is quite smelly so you might be best after spraying it outside to run an extension to it and let it get properly hot.1

Also stove paint“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

Now i want a purple exhaust!
I'll pass on the gold leaf. Unless you have money for gold fingers.I've worked with real gold stuff. Nightmare or exciting depending...and I'm hoping to replace it if the electrical specialist is still in business post covid.
So smell could be a problem. Presumably stove paint wouldn't
I'll make enquires about that but thanks for the tips.
Dark grey may work (never thought I'd say that) to blend with the logs and a reamy 'stone' surround.
Feeling more optimistic now
