E.ON Next - should I just renew?

Hello,

I have had an email from my provider E On next asking if I want to renew my tariff. I've tried price comparison sites but currently gas suppliers aren't showing any deals because of the exceptional situation. Am I best to just renew my fixed rate tariff? I think that's the advice on MSE guides but just want to check.

Thanks.

If they are offering you to renew at your previous fixed rate deal then bite their arm off.

However if they are just offering you a new fixed tariff what are the prices per kWh and standing charges?

As per the majority of other times this question comes up,without your current prices and proposed future prices and if possible your expected usage amounts it's difficult to offer much in the way of advice.
Probably as with many people at the present time theres no absolute right,or wrong answer as to what to do.
Consensus seems to be that most people who are on fixes now should roll over to the standard rate variable tariff and not another fix, unless being offered a spectacularly good deal which appears unlikely in the near future.

The fixed unit price i'm being offered is 9.84p per kWh (compared to 3.31p per kWh currently). The variable is 7.34p per kWh so I think looking at ML's advice, variable is best. Will just read it up again!
