SSE Boiler and heating cover

If anyone is thinking of taking a cover policy out with SSE.
This company is a sham I have tried to cancel a boiler and heating cover policy with them for my uncle (I have an LPA) when he was taken into care and sold his house to cover care costs. They denied knowledge of the cover when I enquired how I was to do this but kept taking payments.
I told them that I would cancel the DD payments if they had no l knowledge of the cover which they acknowledged and said the matter was resolved. They then sprung into action and are threatening cancellation charges. I am still struggling to resolve with them.
The best of it all my uncle does not have a boiler or central heating system so the cover was mis-sold in the first place.
They are hiding behind data protection now and not discussing it with me anymore when I pointed out that he doesn't even have a boiler, they provided an e-mail address to register the LPA with them but it didn't work as the e-mail failed to be delivered with the address they provided I am reticent to send the original via post as they don't seem capable of returning it.
They let me cancel hs electric/gas supply without registering the LPA so I don't know why they wouldn't with the cover?
