Avoid Leaseplan in future, everyone.  They think they can force drivers to pay unfair private PCNs and also profit by creaming off an 'admin fee' as a bounty for paying false tickets without question.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi everyone, just an update. I just received an invoice from the leasing company: £15. I have not sent the email yet as I was waiting to hear from Smart Parking.

Just thinking, is it too late too email because I have been invoiced now. Should I just take the hit and pay the fine and learn my lesson?

Why would you do that?  This is soooo easy to win on appeal and it isn't a fine.

I know I’m giving in, but I’m doing exam currently and have so much going on that this seems like the easiest option. But also an expensive options. I will just appeal it, you’re right. Should I just leave the email and try to appeal through other means?

Just do what the NEWBIES thread tells you to do if you are at first 'appeal' stage. Dead easy, but DON'T do POPLA as you are in Scotland.

Surely easiest to just get the landowner to cancel it?  Always PLAN A.

    You have two separate issues.

One is with the lease company who have received a NTK and given the hirer/lessee details to Smart, and charged you £15 for the privilege.

The other is with Smart. When you receive the NTH from them, you can appeal it as hirer/lessee. In Scotland, neither the registered keeper nor hirer/lessee, nor day to day keeper can be held liable because there is no law in Scotland that permits it.
You should therefore appeal the NTH when it arrives as hirer/lessee/day to day keeper, stating that since you cannot be held liable in Scotland, they should either pursue the driver, who you are neither obliged nor legally required to name, or cancel the charge.
If you successfully get the charge cancelled, then go back to the lease company and tell them to cancel the admin charge since it was obviously spurious since the original PCN was spurious.

Hi, I have just recieved an email from my lease company to say I was parked at tesco for more than the time frame, I was actually charging my car at the time whilst I was shopping.

My car is leased via tusker and I live in Scotland, previously I have ignored these and they have disappeared but with it being a lease car I wonder would I be ok to not pay and it wont go any further?

@Ray76, please start your own thread if you are seeking advice. Besides asking on a thread that hasn't been touched for over 2 years, it just muddies the waters if we have to respond to two different cases.
