Transfer of tax allowance not registered immediately

My husband transferred 10% of his allowance to me. He submitted his tax return just a day or so ago i.e. the 72 hours HMRC say you have to wait for response are not yet completed. Currently, my tax return calculation is still under-reporting the amount I should be refunded, even if I delete the income section and recreate the information.
I daresay this is obvious: until HMRC records the transfer officially, they have no idea he is transferring that 10%. I don't know what the outcome would be if I submitted my return before this calculation is correct: I suspect I wouldn't see the correct refund and would have the hassle of chasing them up for the difference!
(I'm fairly sure this happened last year, as well - on that occasion, I waited till my calculation reflected the correct amount of tax refund before submission. And I think I had to recreate the income section to see the correction)

HMRC will be busy processing a back log of end of year tax returns. You'll need to be patient.0

AIUI your calculation would be updated to reflect his application. But it will take a few days/week or so.Mirk said:My husband transferred 10% of his allowance to me. I'm assuming you have actually filed your own return.0
