Good morning again, as I said, a grey start, but doesn't seem too cold.Sorry to read that you and Steve have Covid Snoozer, we had it back in January, but not too badly, we were lucky.I had a fit of the blues yesterday, I don't know why. There was nothing in particular to trigger it. we went for a long walk yesterday afternoon which was probably a good thing, to get out of the house. We are getting out of the house again today, taking Dgs to a local steam railway (he likes trains). His sister isn't going, she's not interested in railways. We'll take a bit of a picnic for lunch, they do sell sandwiches there but Dgs is not a lover of sandwiches, so we'll take our own stuff in a little cool bag.Talking about food, there seem to be a lot of folk who don't like black pudding! I like it, and yes, I do know what it's made from!I hope everyone has as good a day as they can today, whatever you are doing. Take care folks.14

Morning folks - thanks for starting us off Scarlet, I hope you enjoy your day out, steam trains are always a delight. It's murky here with little prospect of sunshine. I'll be pottering around this morning before my cleaner arrives in early afternoon when I'll go out.Yesterday I knitted another blessed hat 😆 and then ordered some big buttons (after advice from weenancy) so held off making pom-poms to see if they work. I wish I hadn't started these hats but, as they take very little time to make, I'll work through the wool that I've already bought. As I was knitting I had a sudden thought come into my head about our very much missed dumpling 😞 very strange. My thoughts are now with our poorlies - Happy Bank Holiday Monday to all.15

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. A grey start for us too and no sun is promised. Yesterday we had a measly amount of mizzle early morning and late evening but sadly not enough to make an impression on the died up garden and pots. And I have really begrudged using the hose since I went on the water meter.
After a w/e child minding I have a slothful day promised. But first I need to make a big pot of soup to take care of my lunches for the coming week. I think it will be Lentil & Bacon this time. I got a shepherds pie base out to defrost for my dinner today so just a bit of mash to do to top that and then prep a few veg and make a small jug of gravy.
I have a Te*co delivery this afternoon. It started off as just fruit, veg and fridge stuff then I realised just how much my store cupboard stocks are diminishing without me realising so some tins, jars and packets went on the order too to top stores up. I am still wading through both freezers so the only frozen items on the order were a couple of pizzas to replace the ones the DGDs ate on Saturday night!
Well that's the end of my riveting news for today (not!) so have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones or just fed up. SNOOZER I hope you and Steve are not suffering too badly. Take care one and all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"14 -
Morning everyone Gers I am another that as thought of Dumpling she would have been the first to say pinch punch first of the month and she was on my mind a lot over Easter she will have been a big miss to her family I know how much she loved these occasions it’s so sad . Miserable again here today no sign of sunshine I think we will get a heatwave the 16th of this month that is when I get my log burner installed I don’t care how hot it is I will be lighting it I have waited all winter for this . Not a lot happening today I will be popping to Lidl for what I couldn’t carry yesterday but other than that it will be a lazy day thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing12

Morning All
I think of dumpling on the first of the month too, she's still sorely missed.
It's quite overcast here but the bedding is on the line anyway, it was like this yesterday and the washing dried quite well.
I'm off to Costco with my friend this morning then we may have a wander around Ikea, I don't need anything from either shop but will enjoy the browse.
Have a good bank holiday, take care. XX13 -
Good morning, damp air, but fairly bright here, some very light rain yesterday the garden and pot plants look greener, but not enough rain to penetrate the soil.
Mega sloth day yesterday, felt tired and poorly all day. Read and dozed while OH watched the snooker. I had cooked a big RTC gammon joint the day before and we did enjoy some with mash, veg and HM Gooseberry pickle, tasty and not much effort required.
Not sure what today will bring, I really do want to make some GF bread in the BM, not difficult, but a bit of a fiddle weighing out all the different flours. Best GF bread I have ever tasted - hopefully worth the effort.
Thank you for the lovely comments about DDog, the photo was taken several weeks ago before she started relapsing again, rather thinner now, but still enjoying life.
Snoozer sorry to read that you and Steve have caught Covid, I hope that he can access the anti-virals easily, I am flagged up for them if the need should arrive.
Wishing everyone a good BH Monday, sorry that you had the blues yesterday Scarlett, have a good day at the trains. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)13 -
Morning all, thanks for the start Scarlet. Enjoy your day out with DGS x
I too thought of dumpling yesterday - white rabbits etc. I finished a knitted hat last night too Gers - a knit and natter group I used to go to (before returning to FT work) are knitting for homeless folk. I've promised them 10 and I have now completed 5. Someone else is making the pompoms thankfully.
Did a food shop at A!di yesterday. Didn't have the roast chicken as it hadn't fully defrosted, so that will be for later. We had lamb shanks last night instead. DH went to a friends for a meet up and I watched Jane Macdonald in Florida - she's so upbeat, it really lifts the spirits.
Hope the snoozers are doing okay and symptoms not too bad x
We are off out shortly. I want to upcycle a piece of furniture and need to look for paint. We will then go onto a craft fayre at Penshurst Place.
Have a good day everyone,

Good morning
Grey but dry here, I will go for a walk once my cat wakes up and gets off my lap🐱😁
Then I hope to get some plants into the garden as 🤞there should be no more frosts.
Another roast dinner tonight so that just needs heating up 😋
Have as good a day as you can 🌻11 -
Hi everyone,
Thanks for the good wishes. I'm another who was thinking about dumpling this weekend, probably because I've got covid. Laura tested positive this morning which is a bit of a worry. She doesn't seem too bad atm so I hope that continues. I'm not feeling too bad today, just a bit sweaty and yucky feeling. The NHS showed it's best side again yesterday - Steve rang the helpline about 10 am and was told he'd be contacted with an appointment which he was - 2pm. So by 5 he was back home having been given the anti-viral treatment, which hopefully will lessen his symptoms.
I've no news because we've spent the last 3 days holed up in the bedroom sleeping and reading. Brian has tested negative so he is going to take Esben to the zoo today so we will be able to have the run of the house.
I'm sorry, I can't remember what anyone is up to but hugs to anyone who needs one and fingers crossed that all the poorlies are doing as well as can be expected.14 -
Morning everyone
I think of Dumpling when others talk of knitting and Florenceem shares pictures of her makes. I always enjoyed her posts. Hoping her family are ok.
Had a lazy afternoon yesterday spent mostly reading outside - the sun came out and it was lovely. Also planted the plants I'd bought earlier. Enjoyed two episodes of Gentleman Jack last night.
I booked train tickets for beginning of September to spend a night in London with DD who is there for a weekend to go to a concert that was cancelled twice over the last two years. Was just going to have a quick look thinking it would be too early to book and found tickets for £66 return - this is very cheap as from where I live it can easily be that just for one way.
Unfortunately I'm not feeling to great this morning - back to aching all over and a really sore head. I was meant to work a couple of full days this week but I'm going to ring my boss and say I'll just have to carry on doing half days. Makes me feel quite useless, but I know I can't manage it.
Right I'm going to go and tape up these boxes of books for DD and print off the labels as they are getting collected tomorrow.
Snoozer - hope Laura isn't too badly affected. Excellent service from NHS.
Hope everyone has a good day today. Take care x12
