Just starting to use Barclaycard rewards used to have standard card but at the airport and used in boots with pin to activate it. Then go to the beer place to get drinks and food and partner got it but did contactless and it declined. He just got to the table when I got a fraud text from Barclaycard it did say the pub one was declined.

So will they do this each time as il be in Bulgaria and don't want it to keep doing that if I am using card

Impossible to say. It depends on how their algorithm is set and how it interprets your spend behaviour.

You might want to give them a call if it's a problem.
  • as above call them, especially if you are leaving the country for a few days

a lot of the fraud markers pick up on your spend patterns if something out of the ordinary pops up then they may block the transaction and call / alert you

I would alert them that you will be going abroad and have another card(S) to hand for backup. Imagine that you as a lender registered the first transaction in an airport, a destination that many fraudsters would use to leave the country for various reasons. Bound to raise an eyebrow somewhere surely?
If you believe you can, you will. If you believe you can't, you won't.

    Secured/Unsecured loans x 1
    Credit Cards x 8 (total limit £55,050)
Creation FS Retail Account x 1
    Creation Credit Sale 0% x 1 = £112.50pm x 20 mths
    0% Overdraft x 1 (£0 / £250)
    Mortgage Outstanding - £137,707.00 (Payment 13/360)
    Total Debt = £7,400 (0%APR) @ £100pm - Stoozing

LOL! And stay on hold for a minimum of 40 minutes! They are "exceptionally busy" at the moment you know.

I'm seriously p..d off with Barclaycard at the moment and if it wasn't for the 0.5% cashback I'd be binning them. You just cannot contact them. At the moment my additional cardholder can't use the card online because they are sending 2FA texts to an old number, despite the correct number being updated online. I'm going to have to write to them - yes, in 2022 WRITE to them - to get it sorted. Idiots!

Got rid of barclaycard about 6 months ago for this very reason  - hold times on calls! There are too many companies hiding behind the covid excuse for not being able to answer calls. There is a message facility on the online account but they take 3-4 days to reply

Lloyds are just as bad for the same reason

They got rid of the message facility with online banking sometime last year. You now have to use the online chat system via the app, which is very hit and miss based on the couple of times I’ve used it.
Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both.
