Light and easy to use cordless vacuum?

For 83-year old mil in her new home with Amtico vinyl flooring.

Tried to persuade her to buy a robot, but she reckons she has too much furniture for it to be effective.

So, thoughts on a light and easy to handle cordless hoover, please?

I have a Dyson, and don’t find it that light to be honest, plus you have to keep your finger on the  On button. Hopefully someone recommends something better!

We have a Shark and a Dyson. The Dyson is definitely lighter. I was surprised how heavy the Shark felt, actually. The Shark I would say is superior in cleaning power, but it’s brand new while the Dyson must be nearly 10 years old.

According to my wife ours is a Hoover Freedom, which is light and easy to use. I didn't realise we had one.

We’ve had both Dyson and Shark cordless vacuum cleaners. Dyson is lighter but both have the battery in the handle so neither are super light, but much more convenient than a corded vacuum, as long as you can do all you need in about 20 mins before the battery runs out, but it’s usually enough to be fair. Both are very good, the shark seems to be slightly better for pet hair pickup.

We have a GTech and because the battery isn't in the handle it's easy to use and lightweight, it operates by hitting a button with your foot once for on and again for off.  It cleans well too.

We have a Bosch flexxo Gen2 Serie 4. It is brilliant. It has a little detachable handheld vacuum as well. The brush on the upright is removable to easily cut out any hair that wraps around the roller. It has a light that makes it really easy to see if I've missed anywhere.

Another vote for Gtech, so easy to manoeuvre and light too.

Lots of stuff to get on with there - many thanks, folks.

I'm familiarish with the Dyson and Shark, and the GTech tho' I haven't seen one in real life, but the Hoover and Bosch are new to me, so will compare them with the 'knowns'.

    Thanks

We've just bought the Vax Blade 4 cordless and although it's much easier to use than any corded vacuum, and more effective looking at the much it's pulled out of the carpet, it is one of the heavier cordless.

I suggest this, £8 from Wilko and is brilliant on hard surfaces. It is lightweight, gathers dirt that is invisible to the eye and gives a strange sense of satisfaction when used. I much prefer this to the JML version as the bristles are much softer:
