Ideas for garage wall/car door protection

I’m in the process of updating my garage , new cupboards and shelves for all my bits and bobs, and painting the walls and eventually the floor, now I’m one of the rare breeds that actually keep their car in the garage, there’s enough room to get in and out of the car but the doors do contact the walls sometimes, I did put some surplus carpet underlay along the walls and I have this option to use again, but, I would like something a bit smarter and slightly more professional looking, if you see what I mean, does anyone have something they use/recommend that would be more aesthetically pleasing?,
