With it being housing association, wouldn't any possible future  payments go to them rather than yourself, or any other tenants?

I wasn’t expecting it to come to me.  I guess the benefit I get is from using it.  We were getting the new roof, insulation and then suddenly solar panels arrived as well.  Next thing they are talking about is replacing the storage heaters with more modern ones.

Sounds like you're going to do quite well out of their refurbishment budget!

Make sure that they're High Heat Retention storage heaters.  If they're panel heaters on daytime electricity you won't be able to afford to switch them on !
Also make sure their kWh storage capacity is at least equal to that of your existing NSHs, assuming that they last into the evenings when the weather is cold.  HHR NSHs usually have a built in convector, and this will kick in at great expense if the new NSHs are too small.

I would be very surprised if the SEG income doesn’t come to the occupant provided action is taken to fit a smart meter and apply for SEG. As I said above, we are talking here about a single smart meter with two MPANs where a single meter serial number is linked to the two MPANs. If the HA was minded to accrue this income then they would be the party taking forward the process to choose a SEG payer; fit a smart meter and get a second MPAN - not the consumer. Bear in mind, we are not talking FIT payments here just SEG. My array exports 2000kWh/year and I get paid less than £100/year.
