    The contact tracing service was where people manually phoned closed contacts of positive cases and at one point if you were contacted by them you were legally required to self-isolate. The app was setup as an additional service and there was never any requirement to record a positive test on it, nor take any action if it pinged up that you have been in contact with someone.

    Confusion always reigned over this app. From people thinking it was a privacy invader, those who thought it cost £37 billion to develop to those who saw it as an extension of the evil government rather than it simply being an optional tool free of legal obligation that allowed you to make sensible decisions during the pre-mass vaccination period.

    Shame really.
