What makes you think they even might offer such a deal? They don't even offer a 0% purchase deal for new customers!

You asked and they said no, they have never offered 0% on purchases or balance transfers ever as that’s not the kind of customers Amex wants.

If you can’t afford to buy the TV and pay it off in full, then you probably shouldn’t be buying a TV.

If you really must buy one and want it as 0% purchase offer, then I guess you’ll have to apply for a card that offers this and forget getting any points.
Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both.

If they've never done it - you'll never get it. Feels like you're cheesed off for not getting something that nobody else has ever gotten either. Amex are not likely to be worried over losing the transaction fee from the sale of a TV though. If you have loads of offers at 0 percent - then best use one of those.

    Not true:
The American Express® Rewards Purchases Credit Card | American Express UK (archive.org)

They also offered 6 months 0% on Purchases on their Costco co-branded card until it was withdrawn.

It's true enough that they don't offer anything like that at the moment though.

If you are going to pay it off straight away then you don’t pay interest.

Or were you telling them that you pay it off every month while intending not to?

They make the least money from the people that pay off in full every month, so not really that sweet for them.
