Your MP looks after your interests. You can ask them to forward your complaint to the MP of the constituency where the alleged event happened, pointing out you are disinclined to go back and spend money there if it comes with a £100 charge when you want to refuel and help the environment.
You can ask them to contact the Secretary for State of relevant ministries such as energy, transport, and environment.
    Yes, my thoughts as well.

This government keeps playing the right notes but NOT in the right order
..... ERR, not too sure of the right notes though >:)

Do they really want electric chargers in an area a scammer operates in

MP's must get involved and especially the Transport Secretary.
At the same time, those "take a break" motorway signs should carry a wealth warning or take them down ....

The charge point company responded to my email this lunchtime, and said they had been in touch with the landlord who was going to cancel the parking charge fine. They are apparently working on a solution as currently the ANPR fines anyone entering the site during the restricted period.
Despite how helpful the charge point provider have been I will still follow this up with my MP to forward to various ministers, as it’s still baffling to me how this situation can exist at all.
Thanks again, and hopefully anyone else in a similar situation will get a positive result from contacting the relevant charge point company.

That is good news.  Make certtain you receive the cancellation in writing

This situation proves that ANPR cannot be suitable in car paeks where chargers are because ANPR is only an "in/out" system
Government and the Transport secretary need to sort this quickly. The parking industry will not volunteer this as it just enhances their scam

How about writing to the national press so people can be warned

That is great news and evidence that remote, faceless ANPR fails yet again.

Certainly MPs need to know, ask your MP to write to Neil O'Brien MP who is responsible for the new incoming statutory Code of Practice, with your evidence of what is happening to people who use EV chargers provided in car parks.

Suggest to your MP that it would be good to raise a question in the House about this specific issue, as it is NOT covered in the new Code and yet this scam is affecting thousands of people, plenty of whom are scared and pay up.

  • I will be writing to my MP. I’ve asked for written confirmation of the cancellation, and once I’ve got that I’ll take my time to compose something appropriately to my MP.

Please do ask her/him to forward your concerns to the Secretaries of State for the other applicable ministries as previously mentioned, because this problem runs across all of them.
