If the fan blade spins on contact, it won't be a seized motor, I wouldn't have thought.0

Fair do's, but I was referring to GDB's post about cleaning the fan to see if dirt was preventing it from spinning; if the blade can be spun easily by hand, then it ain't stuck.0

fenwick458 said:worth a try cleaning it I guess, if its new build property it will have a fan isolator switch outside the bathroom probably turn that off first.
there's a single screw at the 6 o'clock position that holds the front cover on, remove that, then turn the whole front cover anticlockwise about 5 degrees and it will come off. you'll be able to see more once the cover is off and if the blades spin freely, but if the back of the fan is clogged up with fluff or a birds nest you'll still need to un wire it and remove it from the wall to be able to clean it properly.
and to be honest if you are competent to get that far and it's still not working you may as well buy a replacement and fit it yourself, changing a fan like that when you know you can buy the exact same type is about as easy an electrical job gets you'll need 2-3 screwdrivers, just take a pic of the wiring before you start
I think I’ll have a go at fitting a new one myself.I took a picture of the wiring.1 -
If you can get the EXACT same model, you should be fine.
Do you have a mains tester of some type, tobesure tobesure?
The (probably) flexible concertina'd duct hose might just be a snug fit over the extractor's outlet spigot, or it could possibly also be held in place with a zip-tie or similar.
Any problems, don't 'assume', but please ask.2 -
Get a tester screw driver, the light circuit likely needs to be off as well.

I would try just a new fan first, you can re use the timer module it's probably fine, as you said the shutters are opening so that means power is getting through

timer is another £16 if you need it
