Help with choosing a DVD Recorder needed

Hi,
I am looking for a new DVD recorder (obviously best deal financially, will go to around £200.... preferably lower!!)
I have a Panasonic TV which has inbuilt Freeview. Have used a Panasonic recorder which now has intermittent problems. I would prefer a Hard disk drive version this time, don't know if it is possible to buy one which has a disk facility to transfer from Hard disk to DVD disk?
Do not buy DVDs with formats other than the UK format.
Want one that is easy to operate and easy to locate and delete stored programs, Would like to record from Freeview channels also.
Can anyone advise brand and model of recorder best suited to my needs?

Most HD / DVD combos allow copying from the HD recording to a DVD-disc.
The two brands that get best reviews in the AV press are Sony and Panasonic (I've shortlisted one of each for us at the moment), but you've already had problems with Panasonic. Prices ranges from a couple of hundred up to £500.
Have a look at https://www.avforums.com they'll be lots of threads about this.
Also search Amazon.co.uk for the items to see prices and user reviews.0 -
I am watching this thread for recommendations too. Be nice to know which ones have 2 year warranty. Have noticed that Richer Sounds (who make it easy to see the spec list) have some Samsungs - one is all formats Samsung DVDR155 but only 1 Scart, so not very useful, a pity. Think they have an all singing & dancing one Samsung DVDSR150 at around £150 but not every format is covered. I wonder how important is it to have all these formats? Richer has a cheapie Samsung DVDR128 with fewer formats but has the 2 Scarts. Any observations about these?0

Anoher question.... Can I watch analogue tv whilst recording a freeview digital channel with either a Sony or Panasonic recorder.0

If they have dual tuners (one analogue / one digital), yes.
Check the specs on the manufacturers websites just in case. I don't know of any DVD-HD combos that have dual digital tuners though.
If you buy from John Lewis, many items have a 2 year warranty - worth a check.0
