Brt, Gas Fixed Tariff Exclusive May 23v1 should I move from their current priced capped tariff?
I am new to this forum and also new to British Gas having been moved from Together Energy( formerly Bristol Energy) after they folded. I am currently on their price capped variable but have been offered their Exclusive May 23v 1tariff My current tariff BG Welcome Together - Electric Standing Charge 48.127 / Electric 27.865 per kwh ------- Gas SC 27.22 / gas 7.367 per kwh
New fixed offer - BG Exclusive May23v1 - Electric SC 54.976 / 32.693 per kwh ------ Gas SC 34.069 / gas 10.034
There is a penalty for leaving before end of term of 75.00 per supply ( £150.00) but BG say that if you opt for another BG offer this will not be charged.
I think I am calculating this correctly as a 22% increase? Martin Lewis says conside no more than a 15% increase on top of the April price cap but is this close enough and is it worth taking. I would apprecate any advice .Thank you

The MSE team think the "BG Exclusive May 2023 v1" tariff could be worth it:It works out as about £500/yr higher than the current capped SVT for the mythical average consumer.Edit: sorry bristolleedsfan, we were posting at the same time!N. They could; it might be more or less than that, but a rise of some sorts looks inevitable.marcia_ said:Are bills really going to rise £500+ in October?
