My adult daughter, who still lives at home, has an IVA due to end in June. She knows she is supposed to get a Completion Certificate at some stage but is wondering if once that is received if that means there will be no trace on her credit file afterwards.
Also is she obliged to declare it or will she asked if she ever had one should she want to move out and either rent or buy a property
Thanks

The mark stays on the credit file for six years from when it started.
As for rental applications all we can suggest is that she answers questions honestly, e.g.
Have you ever been bankrupt?
No
Have you ever had an IVA?
Yes

The completion certificate may take a while to come, and when it does it will be suitably underwhelming.
Basically a photo copied piece of A4 paper, with the words IVA completed on.....and the date.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
