Mortgage application id

Hi,

Looking for a bit of advice. Please be kind.

So I recently got married and now use my husbands name. We have had an offer accepted on a house and now in the mist of mortgage application. The difficulty is, I don't have any photographic I'd in my married name.

My passport is currently with passport office.... for name change. They have returned my marriage certificate, and sent my son a new passport but didn't link them together, despite being requested to 4 times. I am waiting on a call back from them.

My drivers license is still in my old name but current address

I have a council tax bill in my old name, and new name.

My payslip is in my new name.

I have my birth certificate and marriage certificate.

So ultimately I have no photographic I'd in my new name. But my payslip is in my new name.

What can I do? Am I able to get a mortgage? Please help. X

Best ask whoever is dealing with your mortgage application? Bear in mind your solicitor will need ID too. Hopefully your passport won't take too long. Why haven't you applied to change your driving licence?

Would have thought your marriage certificate will tie them all together and your solicitor can verify. Check with your lender/solicitor. No legal obligation to change anything (or everything).

@xemms04x It's not uncommon and shouldn't be an insurmountable issue given that you have the marriage certificate to hand.

I would recommend just following instructions from your mortgage broker (or lender adviser if direct) until you have a mortgage offer and the solicitor from there on, they will let you know what they need.
