Aww, well done sali and well done a_b for staying put and not "supervising". My own DD1 took over when I was unexpectedly in hospital for two weeks in the summer, everyone fed, store cupboards maintained and she even replaced my pressure cooker! Not bad for a student aged 21.0

Hi Sali, hope it's all going well-top tip from my mum when I first moved out was when you are doing your cleaning, work from the top to the bottom, of the house and of each room. Sounds daft but some people do their vacuuming...and then dust the room
None of the OS-ers, I'm sure, but sometimes it's worth remembering the very basics! As for sisters, there is not much I can suggest for keeping them tidy!
For really easy meals, remember soup, jacket potatoes and salad-y bits (useful for cleaning out odds and ends from the fridge) and things like pasta bake-quick and easy, filling and cheap and a welcome change to mince pies at this time of year!
Good luck!0 -
Hello everyone, just thought I'd update you on my trials as a temporary housewife!
The cooking is going well, everyone seems to be enjoying it and noone has fallen ill yet! I made salmon, rice and caulie cheese today, very yummy. Also roasted a chicked in preparation for tomorrow's chicken pasta bake (my organisation skills are improving!)
I've managed to keep the house tidy so far (although little sister seems to be trying to sabotage my efforts!). Bathrooms need cleaning tomorrow and the kitchen floor needs a mop but I'm on top of things!
Thankyou for all the help everyone's given me, it's been priceless, as has the flyladies thread! :TTotal abstinence is so excellent a thing that it cannot be carried to too great an extent. In my passion for it I even carry it so far as to totally abstain from total abstinence itself. Oscar Wilde0
