📖SYNOPSIS
Once upon a time, there was a princess named Marra (who is mostly a nun) who ends up taking matters in her hand to get revenge for the suffering of her sisters at the hands of a prince. Only way is to kill the prince and in order to do so, she must complete 3 impossible tasks. She sets out on a quest together with a curious travelling group of companions (a gravewitch known as a ‘dust wife’, Bonedog (literally a dog made of bones brought back from the dead), a liberated warrior and a chicken possessed by a demon). Let the adventures begin..
💭INITIAL THOUGHTS
Having read 65% of this tale already, I can tell you it’s so imaginative and enjoyable. It’s a wonderful dark twist on a mash-up of various fairytales, also with the journey that Marra takes with her group of companions, it gives me vibes of Lord of the Rings (might just be me ha) and what was entirely surprising until reading is that it is so bloody hilarious!! The humour is so good, I was chuckling away at the weird and wonderful concepts of for example, a chicken possessed by a demon (I mean, that already sells this tale to me as it’s so weird and fantastical!) and the quips and retorts by the dust wife are classic. Don’t want to give too much away but I was in awe of the dancing teeth storyline! This is definitely a read to have lots of fun and adventure with. I started only on Tuesday and I can’t wait to devour the rest tonight.
