Settled status expires after 5 years outside UK. What does it mean?
So I got Settled Status after living 5 years in UK. Indeed I plan to leave UK for longer time. Let's say I will come back to UK after 4 years 7 months. Will my Settled status reset and it will start counting from day 0?
1) What about travelling consisting of many short trips. Can my Settled status be gone if 5 years IN TOTAL of different trips outside UK will be exceeded?
2) If not, how it resets? Do I have to come back for a week or for minimum - for example 183 days so half a year?
I can't find precise info on that rather than after 5 years of being outside UK I will lose Settled status.

You will lose settled status if you are out of the UK for more than 2 years constructively. There is no way to get it back because of brexit.1

2 years is for pre-settled status holders. For people with settled status it's 5 years (4 years for Swiss citizens).rigolith said:You will lose settled status if you are out of the UK for more than 2 years constructively. There is no way to get it back because of brexit.2 -
However, only if out of UK continuously or in total as well? Like 5 smaller absences within 15 years and can lose it too?Peggy0628 said:

If you want to spend time outside the UK
If you have settled status, you can spend up to 5 years in a row outside the UK, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man without losing your status.
There are different rules If you’re a Swiss citizen,

Thanks. However, I totally understand this part. What I do not understand is if I can spend 4.5 years outside UK, come back here for couple of weeks/months/a year and then spend another 3 years somewhere, come back to UK again and then still have Settled status?onashoestring said:If you want to spend time outside the UK

It means you will loose your settled status if you spend more than 5 years in a row outside U.K.
Someone with settled status can come and go , just like a British citizen can - but if you leave and stay out of U.K. for more than 5 years in a row you would loose your settled status .1 -
If that's indeed in a row, I have absolutely nothing to worry about. Thanks!onashoestring said:It means you will loose your settled status if you spend more than 5 years in a row outside U.K.
