Your can't buy quickly enough because of all the buy to let cash buyers you can't compete with, and the solution is to rent from those same people.Flugelhorn said:

If not going to be in an area for long it is not worth buying so need to rent - have one child working in area for 1 year , have rented rather than bought - glad that someone is still able to let property
