PayPal FX fees... must be a better way...

Hi,

I have some USD in my PayPal account and want to get it into my HSBC UK bank account which is currently only GBP.

The PayPal GBPUSD FX rate is pretty shocking.- is there a better way of getting a decent amount of USD into GBP? Should I open a USD account with HSBC and let them do the xfer?

The sum involved at the moment is nearly USD 15k and the PayPal rate is nearly GBP 640 off best.

There must be a better way of doing this... or do we just have to accept this?

Thanks
