SMS app charging for texts, but unlimited texts SOLVED

Hi,
I got a new Samsung A13 recently and it seems it has a third party app for SMS (which I certainly didn't download myself). It keeps asking for a review, which has never happened before with SMS functions.
And I tried to text Radio 2 on 88291, and when I hit Send, it said
"Messages would like to send a message to 88291 ... this will cause charges on your mobile account"
So I cancelled the text.
I have texted in to the same Radio 2 number on my other old phone and that has never charged me. But as far as I know that doesn't have a special third party app.
I'm not sure if it is a Samsung app or not. I thought SMS apps were part of the Android system.
Anyone know how to get rid of this app and just use the phone's own SMS function?
Thank you

What is the name of the SMS app?
In any case, go to settings / apps / default apps and make 'messages' the default (the icon is blue with a white centre and three horizontal dots)

Go to Settings - Apps - Choose default apps......Go down to the SMS and see what has been selected there to be sure. 'Messages' is the Samsung SMS App. Sometimes the Google messages app is just labeled as 'Messages'. Either way, both are safe.
The message you got means nothing, if you have unlimited texts your mobile account won't be charged. After you send the first one you shouldn't get the message again.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

The Samsung "Messages" app is the one with three dots arranged horizontally, the Google one has three horizontal lines.
Suspect that the app is just pointing out that you are using a SMS short number which are often charged at a non-standard rate. It could be that any messages that you have sent prior to this used RCS (via data rather than SMS) and this was the first "proper" SMS message.1 -

My friend says I still won't get charged if I have unlimited texts and that it's just warning message about being charged for people who don't have inclusive tariffs.
I will have to log in to my mobile account to know for sure, and update this post if that's not the case.Look at it this way... In a hundred years who's gonna care?0 -
