Detached rubber door seal

Is it a Mk3 Focus? Those cars seem to be dogged by problems with lower door seals. Various suggestions here: Rubber Door Seals circa 63 plate - Ford Focus Club - Ford Owners Club - Ford Forums seeming to range from double sided sticky tape to silicone sealant.Benny2020 said:The rubber door seal is hanging off at the bottom of my drivers side door, tried superglue but that doesn't work so what glue will stick rubber to painted metal?0 -
Superglue is actually very good at sticking rubber to metal, there must be something on the rubber preventing it sticking. As above, silicone sealer will stick pretty much anything to a smooth surface, clean the rubber with nail varnish remover (keep it off the paint) first.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

It is indeed a mk3 focus.0

Knew it was going to be a Focus, you hardly see one on the road where that hasnt happened, i superglued first and then gave up and cut them off.
i know others who have had them replaced under warranty but they still come off again0 -
Maybe try different glue (can't remember what I used but they've stayed on for ages, and yes, mk3 Focus...)0

Found some glue in LIDL which seems to have worked.0

Just seen this post so probably a bit late. I had the rubber weatherstrip on my Peugeot back door (sliding doors) start to come away from the bodywork. I bought on Amazon 3M Black super weatherstrip and gasket adhesive. Cost me about £25 so not cheap but it's a large tube so will last a long time and it works perfectly.0

i also knew it would be a focus, even the latest ones still have issues with the seals, i gave up keep sticking mine on so I cut them off
