Just a coda on this one. Refund eventually received yesterday. The company doesn't seem to answer it's emails very often, answer the door to the postman for returns and then relies on someone collecting returns from the local post office. Won't be shopping there again.

To be fair to the company, you say you only returned them via the post office on 24 April (a Sunday?), so they've actually refunded you inside a week.
I see absolutely nothing to complain about there. The law gives them up to 14 days after receipt of returned goods to pay a refund.1 -
The complaint was more around not accepting the return, not replying to emails, phone calls or live chat. It's all in the post.
