Virgin Money Confirmation of Payee

One or two days ago, I saw a notification on the Virgin Money app, saying that Confirmation of Payee (CoP) had been introduced on the app, and would soon be active in online banking.

They also say this on their website, although nothing about being introduced later online. See the link below.

My issue is that I tried on the app and online and I was able to add new payees without any CoP.

Has anyone else got any information on this?

Yes, but you did infer this rather than it being clear and transparent.

 I do find that VM are a bit sloppy with their processes. Also, if you look at the link I posted there is no suggestion that it is not already in place.

I have direct experience of about 15 banks and they all have their particular quirks and characteristics.

If this had been NatWest or Halifax I would have been surprised but this is about par for the course for VM.

I've just opened the app and got the notification. It says "We're introducing an extra layer of security to your payments with the Confirmation of Payee (CoP) service, other banks are also doing this."

I read that as it's coming, but not here yet, but it does not give a timescale other than to say it will (it does say will, another indication to me it's not there yet) be available in the app first and then internet banking.
