General Advice, problematic used car

Options
Hi,

I am at a loss of what to do next, does anyone have some advice for me or can recommend a legal professional to assist with my issue below.

At a high level I purchased a car in February,  year 2010 110k miles.  Not a new by any means but was purchased via a trader.

a few days later a fault was discovered with the wipers.  I notified the vendor and they advised they knew about the issue and if I got it resolved by a garage they would compensate me.  This fault is visible on a failed MOT the day before I purchaed but subsequently passed a second MOT the same day.  Obviously with the issue outstanding.

A week later I noticed oil leeking on my drivie.  I notified the vendor.  They advised getting it looked at by a garage which they would compensate me.  They did not refund me and as the oil leak conituned they advised me to return the car for them to resolve.  They provided a repair invoice and I drove the car home.

A week later its still leaking, I provided evidence and they obviously admitted issues with a almost £900 of repairs.

I requested a refund because of the high level history described.  They are refusing this until they 'inspect the car first'.  If it is not fit for purpose etc, and I have all these issues, some they have paid to repair are they within their rights to inspect it as they say I should I just drive it back for a refund.

I have communicated largly electronically so have screen shots of the conversation and invoices etc,  I have no idea where I stand here, on one hand they want to inspect before a refund, on the other I just want one now and in my eyes any inspection they do has no benefit to me whatsoever.

Many thanks

I would wait and see what they say when they  have inspected the car, it sounds like they are trying to resolve it.
It is a 12 year old car so some issues are to be expected. What car is it and how much did you pay?

I wouldn't have much faith in a dealer who expected me to find somewhere to repair fault which should have been addressed prior to sale.  Certainly the wiper issue should have been fixed prior to handover.
