Tesco Mobile online card payment

I have a pay as you go Tesco Mobile telephone number. When I use my Lloyds Bank visa debit card to pay for a top up, a error occurs, the error message just says that there is an error, and the top up does not go through. This has happened several times. I rang Tesco Mobile and they could not help, but suggested that I ring my bank. I rang Lloyds Bank, who said that Tesco Mobile did not request the dual authentication, where my mobile app is used to approve the payment as it is an online payment.
Does anyone know why this is occurring?
What can I do about it?

Probably the same reason quite a few people struggle with paying for their online grocery shopping with Tesco as they haven't updated there systems for 2FA yet!!
Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -

Whenever I pay for Clubcard Plus I get a Securepass prompt to authenticate the transaction in the Tesco Bank app.As you might imagine - the system is separate from that used by groceries, as is the Tesco Mobile back end.0 -

So my statement made in an earlier post stands then really!!

Does the Tesco Mobile system support 3D Secure?Perhaps not with the the OP saying this "Tesco Mobile did not request the dual authentication, where my mobile app is used to approve the payment as it is an online payment." hence the payment via Lloyds Visa debit seems not to be working because of this. How many forum threads have there been where Tesco or even Sainburys online grocery shopping fails because 3D secure hasn't been implemented yet by these organisations even though they have had plenty of time to do it.Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -
Can I ask Money Saving Expert staff to comment on this? It is of huge significance to everyone who shops at Tesco, ie. millions of people.0
