Debt Relief Orders and Home Contents Insurance

My home contents insurance is with Saga. I'm due to renew but the issue of previous CCJ and a Debt Relief Order has come up. They have priced my renewal at £95 per annum more than my current policy.
I am shopping around for an alternative provider online and have had some good prices but the issue of bankruptcy always comes up as a question.
I know that I'm technically not so, but am I better off ringing insurance companies direct to explain my status?
Thank you.

Swinton Insurance refused to provide contents insurance until after the expiration of the DRO, so I have decided to stay with SAGA.0

Never had any issues with any insurance product.

Is this because you are trying to pay monthly? I agree with sourcrates that this shouldn't be a problem.
Shop around because minimum value of cover varies and is often ridiculously high, leading to a high premium.
Co-Op used to be quite low.
Go via topcashback or quidco for cashback and try to pay in one lump sum if you can.0
