Is it cheaper to have french doors or a wall??

Hello,
I'm currently looking at getting a small extension done. It will come off my lounge and extend the kitchen area giving us a dinning area.
To keep costs down, would it be cheaper to have a wall with a window put at the end or French doors?
I currently have a back door coming off a different area, so this would be bricked up if I chose to have patio doors.

It depends on a number of factors - your builder will be the best person to advise you. But French doors are not cheap, and are likely to cost more than a simple window. However, the difference between the two options is likely to be fairly small in the grand scheme of things. I would say it's more important to go for the option that suits you the best - even a small extension is not cheap. What's the old saying - don't spoil the ship for a hap'orth of tar?

It would be cheaper to have a window, as you you have the cost removing the door and bricking up if you chose French doors.0

Given the cost of even a small extension , choose what makes the room work better for you. It’ll only be a few grand either way regardless.0
