Whereas I understand that these measures are put in place to protect us I cannot help but wonder if it isn't being used here as a way of "putting Chase in their place" they have also benefited from having my savings in their accounts. Any suggestions other than having to go to Santander in person(which is not too easy for me.) and making them transfer all the money there. HELP
If any major bank was flat out refusing to allow transfers to accounts that don't have confirmation of payee, then I think we'd be hearing a lot more about that. Virtually all the market leading savings providers don't yet support it, as it was only the large institutions that were part of the initial roll out.
Payments should be released after you make contact with the relevant team and explain that it is simply a transfer to another account in your name and that you've taken precautions to ensure the bank and account details are genuine. If you've taken all reasonable steps to get the payments released and still haven't got anywhere, then a complaint should be pursued.
