Todays reading 12008
First reading      10063
useage 1945 kwh @ 20p = £389
180 says S/charge @ 23.9p = £43

Total = £432 for 180 days (winter/cold season) (£72 PCM)

We use leccy for cooking, washer (cold fill) microwave, kettle and tumble drier

DDM £76/PCM

----------------------------------------------------------------

Gas
Today  reading 1179
first reading      0848

Tolal useage  341 gas units (10,965 kWh @ 4p)

Total cost fuel = £438
180 days standing charge @ 29p/day = £52

Total £490 (£81/PCM)

We use gas for heating and hot water

DDM is £96
----------------------------------------------

Our electric has always been constant over the winter/summer months, gas has been half the above in summer months or less

Im hoping for both useage and the DDM's to come down once a longer term average is clear

I guess you now have to plan for when your current rates above end? Have you worked out what it will cost you then as they are very good rates.

If you're trying to reduce your consumption could you ditch the use of the tumble drier whilst the weather is getting warmer, and do just a couple of washes a week?  We have 2 fridge freezers and one chest freezer.  I've just emptied the chest freezer and turned if off until the next 'crisis/pandemic'.  Hoping that will save us some pennies....   There are only the two of us, but I refuse to be cold.  House is kept at 19C during the day, 15C overnight.

    Bit Confused...

    Off my gas account screen

    "Next Flex
    7.28 p/kWh"
    Off my statement

    Consumption
    76.8 Units (100s of ft3)
    Energy Used*
    2425.7 kWh @ 3.797p/kWh £92.10

    why 2 different rates p/Kwh?
and what does 1 "meter unit" cost me?

Looks like your last bill was at the pre-April rates (about 4p/kWh).
and what does 1 "meter unit" cost me?
You're being billed for an Imperial gas meter, in 100s of cubic feet.
Each meter unit is around 31.6kWh, and at the old rate will have cost ~£1.20. On your new rate it will cost ~£2.30.
