Sounds like they have broken rule 7.3.a and are due for 6 months in jail2

saajan_12 said:Wowza that's a long post. Bottom line is they're right, prices can increase and delays on building can affect different properties at different times. There's nothing binding on being first / n'th on the list, or that they can't change their list. Staying on them this much is great to give yourself the best chance to get the property you want, but its not a great negotiating poker face. It wouldn't make sense for them to reduce for someone who's shown they're VERY interested
At best there's some poor communication, which would get you an apology and maybe some compo - knock off several zeros from the 17,000 for an idea.0 -

As it is I don't think - I could be wrong and clarify if I am - that you have been forced to continue and buy a house you don't want, so I would question what you think you need to be compensated for? Had you pulled out I would think you'd have a better case to be recompensed for any money you had spent up to that point, but if you have gone through and bought a house you wanted to buy, then I don't see it.
If what you want to do is make is a complaint about poor customer service then fine; but that will really be up to the company to deal with, not a legal matter.
I should add I don't know the Scottish process of what it means that you only have to conclude missives.
A customer complaint, you are right, however, I think their conduct is appalling.0 -

That's why we have legally binding contracts. Until you sign one, anybody can do anything if a better opportunity comes up.0 -
I am confused, what is a 'build root'? Is the layout of the house on tge plot?1
-
I think you are taking this all too personally. I’m not sure what you mean by build root but have assumed your property will not now be built in the first phase but in a later one. There can be changes for many reasons, usually out with the builders control. I know our new build was put back due to Scottish Water though our prices did not change but that was in a quieter time of house building and buying.0

Do you now regret your decision to buy the property is that the real angst of your post? The developer owes you no preferential treatment. Sales people have a role to fulfill and targets to hit. Other people were more proactive and reserved their plots quicker. That's the nature of the game.1

I don't know anything about Scottish property so unless you have signed the equivalent & exchanged contracts then anyone can do pretty much what they want.
Their customer service probably isn't the best but I doubt they would be too worried about it, as for comps I think you are very unlikely unless this is specifically written down1 -
