A couple of snags to my suggestion above, you have to use a web-form to complain to the ASA, so will have to copy the text to put in an email to OFGEM and a bit of research suggest it's probably Smart Energy GB Ltd responsible for the Ad, so need to contact them as well. Most of the "Einstein" Ads have appeared in youtube, but I'm struggling to find a link to this one with the IHD and Costs, it would be very useful to be able to "quote" it.
Do any of the more regular posters here know if/how many other suppliers may be affected and any idea how widespread?
FWiW, my smart meters have the correct tariffs and Octopus sent out an update to my IHD6 yesterday: it now shows export kW.

@[Deleted User] Thanks for your very informative (as usual) response.
As you say " not a moment too soon" - EDF's billing system is archaic!

My smart meter display (Meter is SMETS 2) has updated the prices but both on a daily and a weekly basis it goes into the red if it thinks you are spending above budget. Of course charges have gone up quite a lot but the red zone has not been adjusted so I go into the red every day/week! Maybe that isn't the best display for those of a nervous disposition!0

I have the same issue with SMETS 2 meter and I am with Octopus. I emailed Octopus and they say that they are aware of the problem of display not showing new tariffs.
Are other Octopus customers having the same problem?0 -
EDF has confirmed that it does want to change out my SMETS1 gas smart meter in June. This will leave me with a SMETS1 electricity smart meter for Octopus. So I presume that I will then have a gas IHD and an electricity IHD. Meanwhile, Ovo will periodically come out to read the export measurement.I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".0

@Iwanttobefree perhaps you could do the same (and anyone else reading who is affected may like to do likewise) but also update the ombudsman with the suggestion they tell EDF to do that (and any other suppliers in the same boat).
To quote from my last post on 6th May to the OmbudsmanI appreciate this service is to deal with my individual complaint, but my complaint is more than whats happening to me, it's whats happening to others too.more importantly for all suppliers to either fix any of their customers wrong displays, or at the very least notify them in writing that the amount shown is wrong.I also mentioned the smart meter advert
Last night I watched a TV advert advertising smart meters, one of their selling points (in my words) is that you know how much you are spending, in reality if companies can drag updating smart meters as long as they want, that advert is totally wrong. As I said, I copied my Ombudsman complaint to my local MP and the Energy Minister (and Private Eye in case they're interested)
Part of what I put on those emails before quoting my Ombudsman complaint was
This needs changing urgently, more importantly the public needs to be made aware that many of them are budgeting around incorrect data .
I personally think this is immoral and needs urgent action, not so bothered about mine as I both know and can easily work out how much I've actually used, I'm thinking of the poor/vulnerable etc.The way things are going, soon we are all going to be victims of something or other.
Who will we blame then?0 -
My friend I mentioned in my first post is with Utility Warehouse
Someone on another forum said E.on had emailed them to manually send a reading from his smart meter as they could no longer get info from it, and the fix could take ages, which obviously means his in house display is wrong too.The way things are going, soon we are all going to be victims of something or other.
