Update:
- 13/05/2022 posted 2nd letter from operator: the cheque was returned as "appeal denied" with false claim about other correspondence - appeal to IPC consented to by operator
- 17/05/2022 I filed IPC appeal online
- 24/05/2022 IPC appeal upheld due to failure by the operator to provide Prima Facie case evidence within 5 working days
- 13/06/2022 posted 3rd letter from operator/1st letter from new party: "Final Demand for payment" from UCS UK Debt Collection (a trading name of SolutionLabs Ltd) for £170; no justification provided for additional £70, 14 days given to pay
- 21/06/2022 I sent a Data Protection query outlining concerns of data misuse, awaiting response prior to filing with ICO

Very good - and you won at IAS!Do stick around to check this forum weekly or so, as I'm sure you will want to contribute your evidence to the final DLUHC Public Consultation (this Summer, date TBA).
It's specifically about the regulated level of parking charges (starting at £50 - or potentially lower, if we win an argument for less because deterrents don't have to be high or punitive to be effective). The PPCs will be bleating for £120/£130.
And it is vital we make sure the DLUHC confirm that the banning of the false 'debt recovery' fees was 100 million percent correct and must be re-stated to be the blatant extortion that the DLUHC at first said the added £70 clearly is.
It also directly funds and fuels court claims and the whole roboclaim culture depends on the £70 multiples. It must end.
The likes of BW Legal, Gladstones, DCBLegal, QDR et al have no place as apparent 'parasites' dragging the parking industry further into the gutter, IMHO. Disincentivise them and we won't see them for dust.
People will either pay parking charges without harassment or if a PPC wants to sue a persistent 'offender' they still can, like any other honest trader can. Or let the landowner decide.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
