Asbestos surveying for one room

I’ve just been quoted £150+ VAT to survey asbestos on the ceiling of one room (3x4m). All the other ceilings are smooth. I think it’s hard to know because if I was looking at the whole house and garage it would be fine. But the kitchen and bathroom and quite new and there’s no garage. But I understand that the surveyor will have fixed costs 

I’ve emailed a few other companies and not had any replies. Is £150+VAT reasonable?

I think half that figure would be more like it around here (North of England). On the other hand, if they have a monopoly position you may have to pay what they ask.
