Do allow time for your SIPP payment.
When I recently started up a new arrangement there were tax, advice and anti money laundering checks which all took time.
you may well trigger AML checks on a large lump sum.
I can allow as much time as needed, I hadn't thought about AML checks though, will that affect anything or just time?
I don’t think it will affect anything benefits wise, it just takes time.
there are obligations to perform such checks theses days.
i started a new arrangement recently and because my employer was a small company they had to do AML checks on all of the controlling directors as individuals.

We're just trying to find the best way forward as it's causing a great deal of worry for her losing a lot of money to pay her bills and support other people.
If you live together then the whole point of being a couple is that you support each other. As you’re working full time then yes a decrease in means tested benefits is possible but this will totally depend on earnings received each month.
  • to many people are surprised when thinking of living together see their entitlement fall, surely living together one will be saving on rent/utilities etc but i guess if the rent is already being paid by benefits it can change the the idea of moving in together

surely if thinking of moving in together and one on benefits cant expect full benefits to continue,it all seems about the money rather than making a commitment

the op currently lives with other adults (parents?), so maybe paying a fraction of the bills or possibly none (in return for caring).

i think it’s judgmental to say it’s all about the money.
its sensible for them to consider the impact this will have on their finances especially if it will be unaffordable or put them into hardship.

sorry but it says they will move substantial savings out of reach so im guessing wrongly or rightly that were not at poverty levels and is doing for gain when if they had been left they would not be entitled

i will leave it now as it may be derailing things

Long thread, I'd completely forgotten that.  In that case this is definitely where supporting each other comes in - merging people from two households into one is assumed to also merge finances.
