Hi all,
I'm 55, retiring (semi in 3 years), wife is 46, she'll probably keep working until 58.
Have a house with very small mortgage but worth a reasonable sum.
Until now I have been working on:
58-62
Combination of Draw down, part time work and downsizing for cash buffer
62-67
Wife salary, DD , cash
67+
DD (what's left) , SP , other small pension
80+
cash in second house as my wife's cash buffer , both have full SP's and she has LGPS
all make sense to me but not sure if i have another option in staying in the house we have, but taking a life time mortgage or equity release or ?? have always thought my wife would be too young to be able to realistically do this , she'd be circa 49-53 ish?
does anyone have any experience of this or have any ideas?
thanks

Hello - you may find you get a better response if you ask your question on this thread https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5860953/equity-release-guide-discussion/p1 - you don't have to read it first although it has a lot of sound info!!.
There is no harm in asking in both placesI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine0
