Gas meters measure a volume of gas, not a direct number of kWh. you have to calculate one from the other.
For a metric meter like yours, measuring gas in cubic metres (m3) the multiplier is roughly 11.3.
    626 m3 multiplied by 11.3 makes 7074 kWh.
The exact calculation varies but should be shown on your gas bill.

Your meter measure in meters cubed m3 so it has to be converted to kWh.

Use this calculator and choose domestic and metric put in the difference of your readings 626

    It comes out as 7113kWh

This is how they calculate gas units.

    * Your energy usage is calculated from your gas consumption using a standard industry formula:
       Units Consumed (Cubic Metres)
× Volume Correction (for temperature & pressure)
× Calorific Value (energy in each m3 of gas)
    ÷ 3.6 (convert from joules)
    >> Usage (in kWh)
    For me:
      125.0 × 1.02264 × 40.0† ÷ 3.6 = 1420.3
