Can anyone help me understand?

When I was with Neon Reef I had E7 storage heaters which I changed to Farho Eco radiators and asked to be put on single tariff. Neon Reef, which they did.
Neon Reef was taken over by British Gas and I explained that although I had an E7 meter I was on a single tariff and was assured that was fine.
Recently, I asked about a Smart Meter but was told that I couldn't have one due to changing from storage heaters to the Farho heaters. I really don't understand why that was a problem, can someone please help me. Thank you.

It's a bit of a red herring; BG don't support smart meters on E7 supplies, and your supply is still recorded on the database as E7.If you don't mind wrestling with BG CS you might be able to get your supply changed over to single-rate, then they'll be able to fit a smart meter.SandraCha said:When I was with Neon Reef I had E7 storage heaters which I changed to Farho Eco radiatorsN. Probably a BIG mistake switching to magic goo heaters running on daytime electricity. Nothing is more expensive (unless you stay with E7, where the daytime rate is more expensive than the single rate).Nothing to do with your heaters per se, just that for some strange reason BG are unable or unwilling to support smart meters on an E7 tariff.1

Seeing as I am paying single tariff, but just cannot have a smart meter, I won't bother getting in touch with British Gas.
I am not finding them too expensive, as I am in control of the heat I use. The amount of times I had the E7 heaters on and the next day it was warm, or had them on and by the end of the evening the heat was running out. Now, I have heating with the flick of a switch, controlled by a thermostat and timer, if required. I am really pleased with them. The area is all electric, so I have limited choice. So for me, I have made the best choice.
