unpaid debt letter (CST) from fines I never received

Hello all,

I have received a letter from CST stating I am in debt from a parking fine.

I have never received any parking fine apparently originally from parking eye.
The letter has the wrong address on it but has my correct name. This letter from CST only got to me because the postlady knew it was my name and knows me.
The wrong address mix up is because they have sent it to 'ROAD' and not 'END'

So What do I do know please? I have no idea what date this is from, where it was supposed to be i wrongly parked only that it is a debt of £155. I assume looking at the total that quite a few letters from the original parking fine have been sent to the wrong address before now.

Should I ring up CST and say I have this letter only because the post lady knew it was me but wrong detail on address?
Or should I just ignore?

Kind regards,
 D

Don't ring up any scam PCN debt collector bottom-feeder!  Absolutely not.  They are not there to assist you.  This is not appealable but you don't pay nor ring up!

Read the NEWBIES thread 4th post about this nothing stage of debt chasing. Ignore them unless it's a Letter of/before Claim.  Covered by the 2nd post of the NEWBIES thread.

    Are you sure it's ParkingEye?

    Are you in Scotland?

Which car park is it about please?

And finally, check the address on your car logbook.  That will likely have caused the problem.  The DVLA probably has the car registered at a slightly wrong address.  You must check and edit it online with the DVLA.

Come back after reading the Newbies thread. Two clicks away and you have a hyperlink back, at the top of the page (see my signature below, which tells you where to click).

Please read it first; not on a phone.

You can ignore up to a point but must defend a court claim if that arrives.  No paying it!  The added money is 'extortion' (UK Government, Feb 2022).

The address for dvla is correct but the fines have been going to 'road' and i live at 'end'
I only got this one becauar this poat lady knew it was me and that i live at end so she delivered it to me at 'end'
It is for a time i parked my car at a tesco car park and apperently didn't show my blue badge. I won't know becauae it is apparently from october last year and no proof of a photo to this claim.
    kind regards

There are a couple of important questions asked by @Coupon-mad which you have not answered.

    1. Are you sure the parking firm that CST purport to represent is ParkingEye Ltd (of Chorley)?  It is highly unlikely that PE, who rely almost exclusively on ANPR cameras to capture entry/exit times, are monitoring blue badge bays on foot.

    2. Do you live in Scotland?

Sorry, I do not live in scotland. I live in East midlands and it is from CST law in sheffield. They have been advised from debt recovery limited (DRP)  originally the fine is from parkwatch.
As stated, I have no other paperwork so all I have is this CST letter.

It states in the CST letter that The supreme court case of beavis v parking eye 2015 confirmend the lawfulness of private parking charges under civil law.

    Thank you

We don't need to know about the fairly irrelevant Beavis case from 2015.  It's not news to this board.  We were involved and have been here doing this for well over a decade.

Scotland is in the UK but I believe you mean you are in England.    Like I said, come back with any remaining questions after you have thoroughly read the Newbies thread.

I couldn't see anything on the thread about parking fines going to wrong address. In my case it is the wrong address and dvla have my correct address.
If I haven't had previous letters/fines which will now mean fine is 6 months old then am I liable still?
Sorry if I couldn't see this covered in the thread.
And yes, I am in england
    thanks

It's not a fine and it can be sued over for 6 YEARS.

Having read the NEWBIES thread, you know whether you are at LBC stage or debt demand stage, and what to do.

The section about doing a SAR covers wrong address rectification, I think.  Don't read the NEWBIES thread quickly or on a phone.  It's not a skim-read resource.

I see it's a ParkWatch piece of trash.   If the client is DRPLUS then it's just another debt letter as seen every day here. Read a few threads from today.

Just to confirm ...... the CST letter said something like ..
"we have been instructed by DRP on behalf of Parkwatch" ?

Is it Parkwatch or Parkwatch Ltd ?

Regardless,we will let you into a little secret ...
DRP ARE POWERLESS AND CANNOT INSTRUCT ANYONE

CST get it wrong all the time, it is now a big joke.

The next part of the joke is CST referring to the Beavis case ? They clearly know nothing about the Beavis case otherwise they would not add a fake amount above the parking charge.

The CST letter will tell you if it's Parkwatch or Parkwatch Ltd or maybe
DEFENCE SYSTEMS LTD T/A PARK WATCH

    Please let us know.

PS: No talking to DRP, they are just money scammers

UNREAL ...... CST LAW simply don't get it and they are misleading you.  In the private parking industry there is a so called contract.  The contract is between you and Parkwatch.
The only time DRP can get involved is if Parkwatch asks to them to collect a so called debt.
DRP failed to collect from you and their only option was to pass it back to Parkwatch
DRP offer parking companies a "no win no fee" service.  DRP FAILED so Parkwatch did not pay them yet CSTLAW have added the fake charge regardless

You have no contract with DRP and they cannot instruct CST   ..only Parkwatch can ?
Once DRP have failed to collect ..... they are out of the picture

If this was me, I would ask CST for a copy of the contract between you and DRP. There is not one ..... and, at the same time ask them for their legal authority to add the extra amount especially as government has now banned this.
THEY ALWAYS FAIL TO PROVIDE AN ANSWER

The other year we had problems with CST when they bombarded Scotland with the same rubbish.  Scottish MP's put a stop to this and CST Law (trading as Credit Style) were investigated by the SRA

As CST are still sending out misleading untrue information and adding fake amounts, you should report them to the SRA ... The Solicitors Regulation Authority
