Roofer

A house, down the road lost a few ridge tiles, in a storm a couple of months ago
They had had a complete new roof, less than 4 years ago
They, obviously called out the original roofers to sort out the problem - which was done after about a week !
Then, last week they were called out again - and were seen crawling all over the roof with a bucket of mortar, lifting random tiles and trowelling mortar under the tiles !
This appeared weird to me - since under the tiles is battens and felt on joists
Any comments.....

If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.

Every third row of tiles should be nailed down, and I wouldn't have expected the ridge tiles to come off (was a dry ridge system used ?). Sounds like a poor job was done initially and they are trying to bodge some repairs. But not my problem, although it would be worth making a note of the roofer's name - One to avoid if/when you need work doing.

Regs are much stricter for single lap tiles now. Every tile needs at least one nail. Some need nails and clips.
