I video call our son and daughter via messenger daily with no problem, however, during the last fortnight video calls to our son have become a problem. He can see/hear us OK. But the picture from him to us is jerking when he moves, sort of frame at a time. It dosent happen from us to him.
Oddly enough, I installed WhatsApp and the jerkiness is absent. Ideally I'd like to remain using messenger.
I'm using android, he iPhone, this shouldn't be an issue as we've been using these devices for years without a problem.

Could be anything, age of devices not being optimum to now use Messenger (technology doesn't stand still), his Internet connection not communicating properly with Messenger etc.
You could both try uninstalling & re installing Messenger.
He could also try rebooting his router (assuming he's using WiFi).
Otherwise if Whats App works fine, just use that instead.2 -
I have a weekly messenger lesson with my personal trainer . ( cheap )
It can be hit and miss at times . I find it tends to be broadband issues at my end .
Mr trainer sees and hears me ok always, but it's at my end that the problem seems to lie
Maybe because he has a more expensive broadband than my basic set up ?1 -
Sorted now since making messenger default.. I must have Bern fiddling with settings.1
