New build insist on completion date

If the current estimated date of completion is September then I would be surprised if the developer will agree to a longstop date which is less than 3 months later. That way they have some slippage room.0

We had a 'new build' where we pulled out and got most of our deposit back (I'd have pushed for it all). For us it was a leasehold and our conveyancer wasn't happy with the terms. The developer kept promising they'd correct the error but we needed to exchange first. (Do they think we were born yesterday). When they promised to amend the documents by mid February then turned round at the end of the month and said the meeting was in a week, I then told them we were dropping our offer to account for the defective lease which they rejected. I then told them we were not continuing. We had to pay £160 fees to remarket it.
